Mahindra Racing has revealed its two car names for the 2018-19 Formula E season with the #94 car being dubbed ‘Electro McElectroFace’ after a public vote.

Following 2016’s sensation when ‘Boaty McBoatface’ topped a public vote to name a polar ship, only to be called RRS Sir David Attenborough by organisers, the Indian team has looked to emulate the trend in its own public vote to name its two cars.

While Jerome d’Ambrosio’s Spark-Mahindra gained the name ‘Falcon’, the #94 which will be raced by Felix Rosenqvist at the season opener in Saudi Arabia will be known as ‘Electro McElectroFace’.

Rosenqvist steps in at Mahindra for the first race of the year with full-time driver Pascal Wehrlein unavailable for the Saudi Arabia round due to contract commitments. Rosenqvist will leave Formula E in 2019 ahead of his IndyCar switch with Chip Ganassi Racing.

The ‘Gen2’ era of Formula E gets underway this weekend with the Ad Diriyah ePrix on December 15th to kick-off the 13-race season which wraps up in New York with a double-header across July 13th-14th.
