Sebastien Buemi and Renault e.Dams lead the early Formula E running at the Berlin ePrix after producing an impressive early benchmark during the first free practice session.

The former Toro Rosso F1 driver starts the penultimate weekend of the series firmly locked in the heat of the title race and trails championship leader Lucas Di Grassi by 11 points with 90 still left on the table.

Buemi fired an impressive marker during the first non-qualifying session to go over a second faster than anyone else around the Berlin street circuit.

NEXTEV's Oliver Turvey was the closest anyone could get to Buemi in second position while Abt's Di Grassi trailed a further 0.3's behind with the third quickest effort.

Nicolas Prost ensured two Renault e.Dams would end the session within the top-four after narrowly outpacing Sam Bird, Loic Duval and Mike Conway in fifth, sixth and seventh.

Dragon Racing's Jerome D'Ambrosio was the next runner in eighth position as Stephane Sarrazin and home hero Daniel Abt completed the top-ten order, albeit almost two-seconds adrift of Buemi's front-running effort.
